Registered Nurse to Paramedic Bridging Program

​In recognition of the acute medical skills that a suitably experienced Registered Nurse offers, Wilson Medic One has designed a bridging course to a Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) qualification.

Wilson Medic One strongly supports the use of this qualification by any individual who is required to provide paramedical services outside of a state ambulance service (i.e. Mining and Offshore) and it meets the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) requirements.

Course Objectives

​The objectives of this course are to provide a program that is holistic in its approach and has meaning and relevancy to the student’s work functions as the program is based on real work tasks.

Entry Requirements

  • Successful RPL application meeting entry and clinical requirements
  • Registered Nurse (RN) qualification and experience working as a health care provider
  • Recent experience within ED or critical care
  • Defensive Driving certificate no older than 6 months at the commencement of Module 2
  • Unrestricted Driving Licence
  • Police Clearance & Working with Children Check
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Computer literacy skills

Credit for skills and past study

Wilson Medic One mutually recognises Statement(s) of Attainment and qualifications issued by other RTO's.


Following the successful completion of program, Qualification Testamur and Record of Achievement will be issued in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
