Registered Nurse to Paramedic Bridging Course


​In recognition of the acute medical skills that a suitably experienced Registered Nurse offers, Wilson Medic One has designed a bridging course to a Diploma of Paramedical Science qualification.

Wilson Medic One strongly supports the use of this qualification by any individual who is required to provide paramedical services outside of a state ambulance service (i.e. Mining and Offshore).

The HLT51015 Diploma of Paramedical Science qualification may provide you with advanced standing into Bachelor degrees at Australian Universities.

Course Objectives

This qualification is clustered by Wilson Medic One to form a targeted and work ready program. Many students continuing with their pre-hospital care knowledge and training and moving into more advanced areas of study as a natural progression

The course is delivered in 2 Phases for RN students with 9 Core Units and 8 Elective Units which are delivered in a cluster format providing program that is holistic in its approach and has meaning and relevancy to the student’s work functions as the program is based on real work tasks. 

Learning objectives include:

  • Extended and refined knowledge in the pre-hospital environment.

Entry Requirements

  • Successful RPL application meeting entry and clinical requirements
  • Registered Nurse (RN) qualification and experience working as a health care provider
  • Recent experience within ED or critical care
  • Defensive Driving certificate no older than 6 months at the commencement of Module 2
  • Unrestricted Driving Licence
  • Police Clearance & Working with Children Check
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Computer literacy skills to use Windows operating system and Microsoft Office

Credit for skills and past study

Wilson Medic One mutually recognises Statement(s) of Attainment and qualifications issued by other RTO's.


Following the successful completion of program, Qualification Testamur and Record of Achievement will be issued in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
