HLT41120 - Certificate IV Health Care

The HLT41120 - Certificate IV in Health Care is the principle nationally recognised qualification for those seeking employment in industry. Covering clinical and physical assessment skills, together with essential emergency care competencies, students acquire the experience and knowledge necessary to function effectively as an industrial medic.

This HLT41120 - Certificate IV Healthcare covers work involving delivery of limited direct client care in an emergency response context. The qualification focuses on work in the ambulance industry done by volunteers or workers who provide a basic emergency response and transport roles in areas where there is a relatively low workload. 

Occupational titles with this qualification  may include:

​Study Pathways

After successful completion of the programme students will be awarded a Nationally Recognised Qualification for HLT41120 -  Certificate IV in Healthcare.

These units may provide credit towards a range of other health and related qualifications at Certificate IV level and above with many students continuing with their pre-hospital care knowledge and training and moving into more advanced areas of study as a natural progression.

Course Objectives

This qualification is clustered by Wilson Medic One to form a targeted and work ready programme. 

The course is delivered in 3 modules with 9 Core Units and 7 Elective Units which are delivered in a cluster format providing program that is holistic in its approach and has meaning and relevancy to the student’s work functions as the program is based on real work tasks.

Entry Requirements

Required entry requirements

  • First aid qualification.
  • Unrestricted Driving Licence
  • Year 12 or AQF Cert III in any field, or above
  • Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, and Flu Vaccination (if completing placements with Wilson Medic One)

Credit for skills and past study

Wilson Medic One mutually recognises Statement(s) of Attainment and qualifications issued by other RTO's.


Following the successful completion of the program, Qualification Testamur and Record of Achievement will be issued in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).​​​
