Certificate III in Basic Health Care

​​The Certificate III in Basic Health Care program is suitable for people wishing to pursue a career in health with the qualification providing a good base of knowledge for many health care industries including ambulance, nursing, security and Defence Force medical assistant.

This qualification covers workers who provide basic health care services to clients and who work under supervision. This qualification has been structured to include coverage of specific requirements for ambulance work and for medical assisting work in the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

​Study Pathways

After successful completion of the programme students will be awarded a Nationally Recognised Qualification for HLT33112 Certificate III in Basic Health Care. These units may provide credit towards a range of qualifications at Certificate III and above with many students continuing with their pre-hospital care knowledge and training and moving into more advanced areas of study as a natural progression.

Entry Requirements

​While the Qualification Framework does not stipulate entry requirements, Wilson Medic One requires students to hold a first aid qualification. Students should be able to read and write at approximately year 12 level and already be in the workforce.

Credit for skills and past study

Wilson Medic One mutually recognises Statement(s) of Attainment and qualifications issued by other RTO's.

Certification

Following the successful completion of the program, Qualification Testamur and Record of Achievement will be issued in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
